If your child is having some difficulties in life that are emotional or psychological in nature, then there are some very effective hypnotherapy techniques that can be used to help children.
Every child is going to experience emotion and upset during their childhood years, but when the problem is around for a while or gets in the way of their everyday life, then it’s at that point that something often needs to be done.
The problems that can be helped include…
Anxiety * Shyness * Self Confidence * Low Self-esteem * Phobias * Thumb Sucking
Depression – It is estimated that 1 in 33 children and 1 in 8 adolescents will experience depression.
Anger and Aggression * Insomnia / Sleep Problems * Bed Wetting and many more……………….
What happens in the session?
The first part consists of a chat to find out what your child doesn’t like about the problem situation as it is and discover how they would prefer to be thinking, feeling and behaving instead. The main focus is on the solution rather than on the problem.
The second part is the lightly hypnotic relaxation with gentle yet powerful positive suggestions.
I tailor make the treatment plan to the child’s personality and circumstances and a personal CD is given for the child to listen to as this enables the therapy to continue between sessions.
Can I attend the session with my child?
Yes, certainly you are very welcome to be in the treatment room if your child is more comfortable with you there. Nonetheless, my focus is on talking directly to your child rather than talking about them as can happen sometimes in other situations.
Children often feel feel comfortable with a non-judgemental therapist, and can often allow themselves to express feelings of embarrassment, guilt or shame for example, that they can’t ‘shed’ anywhere else.
I have found that the children I help often really enjoy the sessions.
